A. Open Microsoft Excel


1. First of all, you have to open Microsoft Excel by clicking on the icon as shown below.

2. Then, click blank document. Here, you will create new data.

3. Enter data on a blank worksheet according to your needs. Here I have made a table of HP sales data for 2009-2010 in tabular form.


4. Then, block the table as shown below. Select Insert on the menu bar. In the Insert menu, other menus will appear including graphics. Click Recommended Charts.

5. After that, a pop-up dialog box will appear as shown below. Recommended Charts contains charts recommended by Microsoft so they are good in their application. Please select the chart according to your needs. Don't forget to click OK.

Or you can also select All Charts, where all charts will be displayed. Then, you just have to adjust to the table that you have.

Another way to create a chart in Microsoft Excel is to click on the charts icon in the image below. Select the chart you will use by clicking the down arrow.

6. After clicking OK, the graph will appear. You can zoom in/out or shift the chart as needed. Don't forget to give your chart a title.

D. Editing Graphics As Desired


Can the graph be edited? Certainly can! Follow the steps below.


8. Next, you can edit the image by clicking the add icon on the top right of the graph. Previously, please click on the graphic first to bring up the menu. Look at the picture below.


Choose whatever parts you need on the chart. For example, you want to remove the lines in the image. Click Gridlines, so that the checkmark disappears.

9. You can also change the style and color of the chart by clicking the draw icon on the top right of the chart.
