To underline text in Microsoft Word, follow these steps:

Open your Microsoft Word document and select the text that you want to underline.

On the Home tab, in the Font group, click the Underline button.

Alternatively, you can use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl+U to underline the selected text.

If you want to change the style or color of the underline, you can do so by clicking the Underline button again and selecting a different option from the drop-down menu. You can also use the Font dialog box to customize the underline further. To open the Font dialog box, follow these steps:

Select the text that you want to underline.

On the Home tab, in the Font group, click the dialog box launcher (the small arrow in the bottom-right corner of the group).

In the Font dialog box, click the Underline Style drop-down list and choose the underline style that you want to use.

You can also use the Underline Color drop-down list to choose a different color for the underline.

When you're finished, click OK to apply the changes.
